Annabel describes her experience at Different's Summer School...
"During my time at Different I have had the opportunity to experience the various aspects of work carried out in order for the company to deliver outstanding results to its many clients.
On arrival I was given a tour of the workplace and introduced to everyone with an explanation of what their job entails which gave me a clear understanding of the structure within an advertising company and how everybody's role is equally important.
For a couple of days I had the chance to shadow the designers in the creative department and my mentor kindly showed me how to operate some of the software used daily to carry out his job. I now have a basic understanding of how identities are created and then developed further.
While I was in the creative department I was given a brief to follow which involved designing an identity and then building on it to produce business cards and letterheads. By doing this I have gained knowledge of the processes used daily in an advertising company. It was great to have a whole day with my mentor and see a how people work as a team to produce the best outcome possible.
As expected I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Different therefore I would like to thank the staff for being so welcoming and giving me an extremely interesting insight into the working world."
